Born in Bulgaria, Alex Boya is a Montreal-based animator and filmmaker known for his surreal, hand-drawn storytelling. He coined the term “genomic animation”, a technique that distorts biological forms to explore identity and transformation. His film Turbine established his Kafkaesque vision. With Bread Will Walk, Boya continues to examine dystopian absurdity, crafting worlds where the grotesque and poetic intersect.
