Cherien Dabis

Born in the U.S. to 1976 to Palestinian/Jordanian parents, Cherien Dabis is a graduate of Columbia University’s Masters of Fine Arts film program. She has directed several shorts that have been seen in the leading international festivals. Amreeka is her first feature. Also a television co-producer and screenwriter, she worked for Showtime’s The L Word for three seasons. She is the recipient of several screenplay awards.
