Born in 1936 in San Bernardo Valley, Los Angeles. Musical studies (composition) and semantics at the San Francisco college. He performed theatre plays during 3 ans (mainly Shakespeare). After two army years during which he set up a theatre company, he made his debut in Broadway in « the Deputy » of Rolf Hochhut and « the royal hunt of the Sun » of Peter Schafer. He has participated in numerous TV series and played in 26 movies. Among the most famous, , « Boxcar Bertha » and « Means Streets » of Scorcese , « Bound for glory » of Ingmar Bergman, « The long Riders » of Waletr Hill . He produced « A country Mile » of Michael Greene.
