Eduardo Valente’s UFF Film School short film, « Um sol alaranjado », won the First Prize at Cinefondation/Cannes 2002. Member of the Rio de Janeiro Film Critic’s Association and writer/editor of film criticism web site ?Contracampo? , he has also helped produce events such as the Brazilian Student Film Festival, Rio’s International Film Festival , the 1990-2000 Brazilian Cinema retrospective, and the Julio Bressane retrospective. ?Castanho? is his second short film.
