He was a conceptual artist. He was one of the most important British artists of the post-war period; he lived at FTHo in Peckham, South East London for over 20 years. The House is now home to the John Latham Foundation and the John Latham Archive; He studied in Chelsea School of Art. He started pistol painting. He co-founded the Institute for the Study of Mental Images. He created the Art Placement Group to be a link between artists and industry, business and government. He had exhibitions in the London Tate Gallery and in the international. He died in 2006.
