French director and screenwriter Lila Pinell studied philosophy before enrolling in the Master’s program in documentary filmmaking at Lussas. Her debut film, Nous arrivons, explores the daily life of a community of children at a self-managed summer camp. It was on that set that she met Eva Huault, the lead actress in Le Roi David (Grand Prix at Clermont-Ferrand and Jean Vigo Award) and the actress who plays Shana in the eponymous film. She also co-directed Kiss and Cry with Chloé Mahieu.
