Kindil el Bahr
During a beach excursion, Nfissa, a young mother, is lynched to death by a group of young men, while swimming offshore. Nobody seems to witness her disappearing. Anxiety and fear grow among the family, especially as, on the same beach, bathers suddenly die.
Algerian director Damien Ounouri is based in Algiers. His first feature documentary Fidaï (2012) was produced by Chinese director Jia Zhang Ke. It was screened at the Toronto International Film Festival and did a theatrical release in France. Kindil is his first fiction film.
