Last Night

Quinzaine 1998 | Feature film | 1 h 30

« What should I do as the world is ending  » Unfortunately the world is going to end at midnight, December 31, 1999. Needless to say, the news was a bit of a shock at first: panic, confusion and outright denial. Then slowly the terror transformed to acceptance. Toronto. The final day. Public services have pretty much collapsed. Stores and restaurants, public transport – all abandoned. It’s impossible to get a cab. The sun is shining brightly which is odd because it is the middle of the night. Almost. Patrick is struggling to get out of dinner with his folks. They want the children to get together and relive a happy Christmas from the past. Sandra is trying to make it home in time to satisfy her suicide pact. She and her lover intend to kill themselves at midnight. But now, she is having car trouble. Craig has made a list of sexual ex-periences he wants to try before the end of the world. He approaches his good pal Patrick to help him with the last remaining options…
