Sem Sombra De Pecado

My intention was to make a film questioning the role of the father, and that of facism and of war, without talking about them or showing them on the screen, and without taking it seriously (wich in itself, is not serious at all…) in the traditional Portuguese way-even iberic- of disrespect, of sarcasm and of irny.
All of this with an air of « fado » so beautiful and so shabby at the same time, that perhaps it will refute once and for all and, most profoundly the official ( and alas, still existing ) propaganda on the « good old days » of our very particular dictator Salazar, according to whom  » the Portuguese are always joyful, therefore idiotic ».
I wanted to show that it was possible for one to be joyful without being an idiot.
