Lorsque je l’ai lu pour la première fois, c’était en 1954, j’étais lycéen et il était presque tombé dans l’oubli. J’ai été immédiatement séduit par son humour et par son personnage principal Laura, imprévisible, obstinée, capricieuse et pleine de talent. Bruce BERESFORD

Born in Sidney in 1940, Bruce Beresford was in charge of production for the London British Film Institute for five years. He directed some 75 films, most of them short films, and four long features before « The Getting of Wisdom in 1977.
